In Queensland, retaining walls over 1m typically require council approval and a structural engineer's certification. Walls under 1m usually don't need approval. We handle the paperwork either way.
Pricing depends on height, length, soil type, and access. As a rough guide, concrete sleeper walls run $400–$700 per linear metre installed. We'll give an exact quote after a site visit.
Sleeper walls are faster to install and look cleaner; besser block is stronger for higher walls and can be rendered for any finish. We recommend based on your site and budget.
The two big causes are bad drainage (water builds up behind the wall) and undersized engineering. We fix both by proper agi-line drainage and engineer certification on anything serious.
